The Patriots Jet Team Foundation is hosting teTra Aviation, which is developing an electric-powered aircraft with vertical take-off and landing capabilities similar to a helicopter or drone. The teTra aviation team won the Pratt & Whitney Disruptor award with its teTra 3 aircraft and a check for US$100,000 at the international “GoFly” competition. It competed against 824 teams from 103 countries (click here for more details).
The teTra Aviation mission is to develop and manufacture electric-powered airplanes — "realizing a society in which people can move freely in the air" for the purpose of "making mobility more comfortable". It will be the first Japanese company to obtain a test flight certificate from the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
